Who Says Camp is Just for Kids?
Camp Bombshell, Produced by The Miami Bombshells, Authors of 'Dish & Tell,' Builds on Trend of Women Traveling to Bond, Relax and Recharge

POCONO VALLEY, Pa., Oct. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- They came from all over the country: doctors, lawyers, housewives, entrepreneurs and teachers, and dropped their guilt at the "disposal station" to spend a weekend at camp reliving life as kids. Women from their late 20's to early 70's, virtual strangers, belly danced, giggled at grape stomping, overcame their own "fear factors" on a high-wire obstacle course, toasted s'mores and found comfort in "Bombshell Circles," a means of unconditional support and female friendship. "Working Girl" and "Mad Housewife" wines flowed all weekend, and chocolate was always nearby.

"Being here has been a life-affirming experience for me," said Isabelle Mosca, 44, of Ventnor, New Jersey. "It was just what I needed," said Sherry Savad, 38, from New York City, "to reconnect with me, to have fun, to be loved and nurtured by so many wonderful women."

More and more, women are choosing to get away by themselves or with girlfriends. A study by LA-based Impulse Research showed that nearly 50% of women have taken an all-female trip in the past three years and 88% intend to go again or would like to go on one. Camp Bombshell proved that while women want to have new experiences, they also want to connect with other women.

JoAnne Kane, 47, of Longwood, Florida, echoed many campers' feelings when she said, "I laughed and laughed and laughed and cried, and realized even though we are so different, we as women, have so many commonalities and similar challenges."

The Miami Bombshells are authors of "Dish and Tell: Life, Love and Secrets" (William Morrow/HarperCollins Publishers), a collection of true, provocative stories about life and the struggle to juggle, that affirms there is comfort in numbers. "We've recognized we're not perfect, and we're pretty sure we're not alone. Being a Bombshell is about being courageous, not curvaceous. Love yourself and put yourself first."

The Miami Bombshells appeared on NBC's Today Show, EXTRA, in The New York Times, International Herald Tribune, and many other publications in the US and abroad. For more information visit http://www.miamibombshells.com .
